The founder of the company Aurum - Crystal s.r.o. is Ing. Martin Kopecký. The company Aurum Crystal was formed through a gradual transformation from the sole proprietorship of Martin Kopecký into today's form of a family company. The glassmaking business activity of the company's founder dates back to the summer of 1991.
At the beginning of its business activity, the company specialized in the production and sale of traditional hand-cut bohemian crystal. Throughout the entire production process, traditional technological procedures developed many years ago by Czech master glassmakers were preserved. Through this approach, the company secured a prominent position in the field of Czech glassmaking.
With the onset of the new millennium and the incoming changes in customer demand, the company gradually responded to current preferences for modern design utility glass. This fact gave rise to completely new collections — Plantica, Mozart, Oklahoma, Cooper, Morris, Diplomat, Flora, and others — which became sales bestsellers. The company actively continues this creative work and is preparing another new collection for its customers, Primavera, which will be introduced to customers in the second half of 2027. Through this creative activity, the company maintains a long-term prominent market position in the field of utility design glass.
On the occasion of the thirty-fifth anniversary of the business activity of Ing. Martin Kopecký, who is concurrently a lifelong admirer, lover, and collector of fine art, the company Aurum Crystal opened a MUSEUM & GALLERY on September 1, 2026, presenting paintings of extraordinary quality from the collection of Mr. Martin Kopecký. The exhibition spaces were handed over for use to an interest association in Světlá nad Sázavou named MUSEUM & GALLERY OF 19TH AND 20TH CENTURY CZECH LANDSCAPE PAINTING z. s., focusing its activities on the renowned Mařák landscape school, which was led at the Prague Academy of Fine Arts between 1887 and 1899 by the outstanding painter and pedagogue Professor Julius Eduard Mařák (1832-1899).
