The founder of Aurum – Crystal s.r.o. is Ing. Martin Kopecký. Aurum Crystal was established through the gradual transformation of Martin Kopecký’s sole proprietorship into its current form as a family-owned company. The founder’s glassmaking business activities date back to the summer of 1991.
At the beginning of its operations, the company specialized in the production and sale of traditional hand-cut Bohemian crystal. Throughout the entire manufacturing process, traditional technological procedures developed many years ago by Czech master glassmakers were preserved. This approach secured the company a significant position within the Czech glassmaking industry.
With the arrival of the new millennium and the changing preferences of customers, the company gradually responded to the growing demand for modern glassware. This development led to the creation of new collections of contemporary decorative and utility glass. In this way, entirely new collections such as Plantica, Mozart, Oklahoma, Cooper, Morris, Diplomat, Flora, and others were born—many of which became bestsellers. The company continues to pursue this creative direction and is preparing additional new collections for its customers. Thanks to its ability to adapt and respond flexibly to customer demand, the company has maintained a strong market position in the field of designer utility glass.
On the occasion of the thirty-fifth anniversary of the business activities of Ing. Martin Kopecký, owner of Aurum – Crystal s.r.o. and a lifelong admirer, lover, and collector of fine art, Aurum Crystal will ceremonially open a newly established museum and gallery in mid-2026. These spaces will present paintings of exceptional quality from the private collection of Mr. Martin Kopecký. The exhibition premises will be entrusted to the association based in Světlá nad Sázavou named Muzeum & Galerie české krajinomalby 19. a 20. století z. s., which specializes in the renowned Mařák Landscape School, led between 1887 and 1899 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague by the distinguished painter and educator Professor Julius Eduard Mařák (1832–1899).
